Lesson 3.1 · Edit your videos by talking to AI
You can now edit videos by speaking them into existence.
Rough cuts, zooms, colour and captions in Premiere. You say it, Claude does it, and it gets better every time you edit.
I'll email you the day this lesson is out.
Say it. It’s edited.
Tell it what you want in plain words, and it does the edit in Premiere for you.
- You say what you want
- AI cuts, zooms and captions
- Ready to post
What you'll be able to do
- Connect Claude to Premiere and edit by saying what you want.
- Get the rough cut, zooms, colour and captions done for you.
- Teach it your style once, so every edit after that needs fewer fixes.
What's inside
- The result first0:00
See the finished video next to the raw footage before anything else. Then what changes: you say what you want, and it does the edit.
- What you need2:11
Four things: the AI app on your computer from lesson 1.1, Premiere Pro, one video you shot, and one reel you love to use as the example.
- Record so it's easy to cut2:28
A few simple habits that make the edit easy. Sound always comes from the mic, never the phone. Trip on a line? Pause and say it again.
- Connect Claude to Premiere3:57
Paste one message and Claude builds the link to Premiere for you. You know it works when you ask what's on your timeline and it reads it back.
- Train it with a reference video6:00
Give it a reel you love. It studies it second by second, writes down how it's edited, and saves that as your style. No editing words needed.
- The rough cut10:29
The most important step. It lines up your cameras with the sound, removes the pauses and mistakes, and keeps your best take of each line.
- Zoom in, zoom out12:57
It zooms in on your key words so something changes every few seconds, then checks that no zoom cuts your face off.
- Colour15:23
Ask it to make both cameras look like one shoot, warm and clean. You see the before and after side by side.
- Captions15:53
Captions go last, because they follow the final timing. Only when you speak, two lines at most. Then it exports the final vertical video.
- Fix it once: the loop16:36
Trim one thing by hand, then ask it to compare your cut with its own and save what you changed as rules. Your next video needs fewer fixes.
- Keep it cheap: save your usage17:19
Pictures cost the most. Work from the transcript, check a few frames instead of the whole video, and one edit won't eat your plan.
- Wrap and the kit19:00
What you can do now. Plus my editing kit, already trained on my own edits, if you'd rather skip the training.
About 22 minutes in 12 chapters.
